The measure was taken after the FDA discovered the use of an unapproved substance - ethylene oxide - in the sterilization process of its baby powder. A JNJ spokesperson confirmed the FDA measure, Stating, "The method is widely used for medical devices around the world. All internal safety protocols were followed to ensure that the safety of the consumer was not compromised". He added. ' The order pertains to the manufacturing of cosmetic products only. We contribute to manufacture non-cosmetic products at the same site.
