Vidya Balan goes backless!

Ever since Vidya Balan appeared on the cover of the anniversary issue of FHM in a bare-back avatar, she has been flooded with calls and SMSes from her fans from all over the world. Vidya appeared as a bare-back wonder as she posed in a halfdraped chiffon saree for the cover of the magazine, which has led many hearts aflutter.

A source close to Vidya says: "Vidya has always been loved in sarees. And she created a record as she is the first woman to appear on the cover of FHM in one. But, her sensuous avatar has led thousands of people from all over the world to call, SMS and send her the same picture to get her autograph on it."

Vidya was criticised when she appeared in Western outfits in the film Heyy Babyy and was dubbed as a fashion disaster. She was always appreciated as an Indian beauty and the fashion designers thought that sarees always enhanced her beauty.

So, when the magazine approached her for a cover photo shoot, she came up with the idea that she would pose in a saree and yet look sensuous.

"I'm so glad people are getting bored of seeing women in bikinis. We've become very parochial about sexiness. I think saree is, by far, the sexiest garment - it covers the right amount, it exposes the right amount - it's such a tease and I like teasing," says Vidya.
