and chosen by the gods.
The Maha Kumbh Mela, according to mythology, can be traced back to the  time  when gods and demons churned the ocean to get the kumbh     (pot) that contained  the amrit (Nectar of immortality), Since then, the Mela is held  every 3 Years in   Each of 4 different  places, returning to each place every  twelve years.
In 2010, It Will be Haridwar's turn to host this mega congregation to devotees   who would come for that rarest of rare holy dip in the Ganges at the chosen hour.
